History in the making? World’s smallest proven boar becomes a dad as Kew Little Pigs welcomes eight adorable arrivals

Kew Little Pigs is celebrating a bumper brood of new arrivals – a litter of eight tiny piglets born to one very proud mum.

Venus, affectionately nicknamed “Aardvark” by staff for her charmingly long snout, has given birth to four boys and four girls – and they’re already stealing hearts at the Buckinghamshire farm.

But the spotlight may soon turn to their pint-sized father. Pluto, a firm favourite at the farm, is poised to make history as the World’s Smallest Proven Boar – with Guinness World Records expected to confirm his title in the coming months.

“It’s always magical when we welcome new piglets,” said farm owner Olivia Mikhail, who founded Kew Little Pigs in 2010. “But this litter is extra special because Pluto is on track to make history. We pride ourselves on giving our pigs the happiest, most enriching lives possible, and seeing Venus settle into motherhood with her little ones has been wonderful.”

Kew Little Pigs has grown from Olivia’s back garden project into one of the top 10% of animal attractions worldwide on TripAdvisor. The ethical farm is known for promoting responsible pig ownership – every piglet is rehomed to a carefully vetted forever home, and prospective owners must complete a comprehensive pig-keeping course.

Visitors keen to meet the piglets in person can do so during the farm’s Halloween Extravaganza, running from 25 October to 2 November. The family-friendly event includes a spooky trail, a Bring Your Own Carved Pumpkin competition, a colouring-in contest, and a fancy dress competition on 31 October – plus plenty of piggy snuggles.

The farm’s ever-popular Piggy Pet & Play sessions are also open for booking, with 10% off using the code pigsdiscount24.
